 The Dazzle School is a collaboration of arts with education. We exist to provide artistic development and direction for youth and adults alike. We provide a unique opportunity for every person to shine!

September 12, 2007 ...
--- New programs at Dazzle!
Starting January 21, 2008, the 100,000 VOICES program will start again. This program is a video-film making workshop which will provide training in film making, camera use, editing and on location shooting assignments. The participants will make three films to be shown on WXXI. There will be a gala and dinner for all participants at the end of the program where all films will be shown. This is a collaboration with WXXI and the University of Rochester Mental Health at Strong Hospital. Please call 585-288-0050 for details. This program is inclusive of those with and without disabilities as are all Dazzle program offerings.

The WE LOVE KIDS music program will be introducing Dazzle's Junk Band. Participants will be encouraged to bring their choice of "junk" items and learn to produce beautiful music.

The BUILD IT, PLAY IT program will enable participants to actually build their musical instruments. The program will end with a musical performance of hand-made instruments.

ENLIGHTENMENT OF LITERACY program will provide training and instruction on reading and how to use the library. It will the history of and use of the Dewey Decimal System as well as research techniques, borrowing, media, video and film information and layout of local libraries, history of libraries, etc.

The SEEDS OF THE FUTURE Program will offer the participants training in cartooning and animation. They will develop their own comic books with their own personal message.

Additional new programs include: PERSONAL HEALTH, VOCATIONAL, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES, MATHEMATICS, ALL ARTS, WRITING, VIDEO PROJECTS-FILM

January 26, 2007...
Dazzle is currently working in collaboration with WXXI and the University of Rochester on the RAISING 100,000 VOICES program.  This is a program where youth video produce three, 3-minute videos about issues important to them as they come into adulthood.  Dazzle's group is a group of 7 participants; all with disabilities.

December 15, 2006 ...
Our new facility at 110 Webster Avenue will be open in January. It will house classrooms, a computer lab, sheltered workshop, conference room, administration space and a kitchen for a culinary workshop.
There is also a completely equipped sensory room for those with autism and related spectrum disorders.

November 15, 2006 ...
Our new facility for administration and classroom space should be ready to open.  This is located at 110 Webster Avenue, directly next door to the theatre.  It is beautiful!  We received a $50,000.00 grant to assist us with this rehab.

October 12, 2006 ...
The Dazzle School was asked by Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield to perform at their diversity dinner on at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.  The performance was wonderful! Dazzle's eight performers (all with disability) were treated to a great dinner, got paid $20.00 each and received a standing ovation for their efforts.

October 1, 2006...
The Dazzle School has been certified by the State of New YOrk, OMRDD and Fingerlakes DDSO to be a certified respite provider.  In the near future we will also be a certified day habilitation provider through the state.
