 The Dazzle School is a collaboration of arts with education. We exist to provide artistic development and direction for youth and adults alike. We provide a unique opportunity for every person to shine!

Pos-ABILITIES

A flexible array of services and supports for individuals with Autism and related disorders

Day Habilitation
Day, evening, or weekend programs which are community- based or at-home services designed to help the consumer and his/her family to develop or improve on existing skills. Our staff members work with consumers to provide examples of creative and useful ways that they can participate, serve and engage in their communities as well as teach independent living skills.

Parent Advocacy and Training
Supports and educates parents and other family members related to the individual with Autism or other related disorders, to improve their understanding and increased acceptance of the consumer we provide services for.

Community Based Activities
Links consumers with Rochester area community resources, offering leisure-time, and social activities and assisting consumers in developing or improving on existing skills

Transportation
Individual and group transportation is available for consumers during aptitude development sessions between home and community-based activities

Respite Services
Provides temporary relief for families or other caregivers of people with Autism or related disorders. Respite is offered in and outside of the home, is available during the day or evening, is scheduled and time-limited, and is intended to allow families time for errands, outings, and other planned activities.

Consumers
Consumers up to 22 years of age, with a diagnosis of Autism or a related disorder, who are approved for services under The Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Appropriate consumers should display the need for increased independence, to become active members of their community, and to enhance productivity at home, within their community as well as at work. Families should be seeking assistance for a consumer residing within their home or for transitional support, to maintain an optimum nurturing environment for the consumers. Services may be provided on a short-term or on-going basis.
