Dazzle's Junk Ensemble
A kids and teens band made of junk. This will be a fun and creative class and produce a musical instrument to play in a final production.

Costume Design for Theater
An eight-week course taught by Professional Costume Designer Nellica Rave, MFA. Learn about the history of costumes, drawing and painting, fabric and fashion, sewing, and creating a character. Finish your class experience with the BEST Halloween costume EVER! Monday evenings, 6:00-7:30. All skill levels welcome, ages 10+. $120 plus supplies.

Theatrical Makeup
Students will learn all of the techniques to change a person from a young human to a lion, other animals, elderly human, create bruises, scratches, scrapes, monsters, etc. A real cool class!

Monologue Fest
Dazzle encourages participants to write their own monologues and. perform them at an annual festival.

Motion Picture and Video Training
Dazzle offers this course from start to finish. The participants learn budgeting for film, production costs and how to calculate them, use of cameras, talent, casting, etc.

Dance
Our dance programs consist of wheelchair dancing, hip hop, ballet, break, swing and cultural dances from many countries. - Taught by various instructors.

Music
A variety of music courses are available. From African drumming and dance, to Mr. Dave Mancini with his "Beat From The Street" series and Mark Maynor with Excellence in Drumming (see our dance/music page for more information on our drumming class.

Dazzles Drum & Bugle Corps

Drama
The drama courses available consist of an 8-week, 10-week, 15-week drama course teaching all aspects of acting, stage direction, costume designs, set designs, creation and setting up, stage movement, etc. Taught by Anne Harvey, Executive Director of Dazzle who holds a degree in Theatre Arts and Human Services. Many productions are presented during the course of the year at Dazzle Theatre, located in downtown Rochester, New York. Currently, three scripts are being written and will be produced and directed by Anne. The first production to be cast will be entitled "Picking Up The Torch" which will be a tribute to Ms. Rachel Scott, the first student to be killed at Columbine. Her brother, Craig, and fellow Columbine survivor Mr. Richard Hoover will have appearances in the production and will then speak to the audience. The second production is entitled "Mr. Blue Sky", which is about Ms. Karen Gaffney, an individual with Down Syndrome who has swum the English Channel and row heads the Karen Gaffney Foundation. Karen will also be in the presentation and will address the audience.
